Dragon Ball RPG “Peak of Power” Review: Best Teams, Goku Skills, and F2P Guide

Peak of Power is a 3D mobile RPG inspired by the legendary Dragon Ball Z anime. Utilizing real-time 3D rendering and advanced lighting technology, the game offers a visually polished experience for fans of the franchise.

Players can relive the original series’ most iconic moments while recruiting a massive roster of powerful warriors. The game world offers significant freedom: you can fly through the skies like Goku, uncover hidden secrets in various zones, go deep-sea fishing, or scavenge parts to repair broken scouters.

The experience is bolstered by high-quality cinematic cutscenes and the original Japanese voice cast, capturing the high-octane energy of the source material. Whether you are hunting for the seven Dragon Balls to summon Shenron, pushing past your limits to reach Super Saiyan, or battling the Ginyu Force to protect Earth, the game stays true to its roots.

The environments feature high-precision modeling and realistic lighting that match the quality of modern CG. Players can visit familiar locations like Kame House, ascend to Kami’s Lookout, train in the high-gravity environment of King Kai’s planet, or travel to the distant plains of Namek.

Combat is equally impressive. When a character activates an ultimate ability, the camera zooms in to show detailed facial expressions, ensuring you feel the impact of every strike. The 6v6 aerial battles are a chaotic spectacle of signature moves, including the Kamehameha, Special Beam Cannon, and Destructo Disc.

Strategic team composition is vital. Every encounter challenges you to manage the flow of battle and optimize your card-style lineup. A single well-timed skill or tactical adjustment can instantly swing the momentum of a fight in your favor.

Outside of combat, the world feels alive. You can spend time fishing by the river, tracking down Dragon Balls, or searching for hidden "Easter eggs" scattered throughout the maps.

For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, the idle mode allows for automated progression. While your team trains, you can use the capsule machine to acquire a steady stream of gear. Equipping these items provides an immediate boost to your Power Level, making the progression loop feel rewarding and fast-paced.

Character Skill Guide

Goku

  • Speed Punch: Deals 75% attack damage to a single target. Has a 100% base chance to apply one stack of Internal Injury for 1 turn.
  • Kamehameha: Deals 120% attack damage to one enemy. If the target is suffering from Internal Injury, damage is increased by 20%.
  • King Kai Fist (Kaioken): Whenever an enemy triggers Internal Injury, Goku gains a stack of +1% Crit Rate (stacks up to 20 times for the duration of the battle). At 5, 10, and 20 stacks, he triggers various levels of King Kai Fist, boosting ATK and DEF by 10%, 20%, and 40% respectively. Once triggered, Goku loses 1% of his max HP at the end of each turn (capped at a 5% loss).
  • Renzoku Energy Dan: Deals 100% attack damage to a single enemy.

Ginyu

  • Rapid Strike: Deals 100% attack damage to one enemy with a 20% chance to reduce the target's Action Gauge by 5%.
  • Energy Barrage: Deals 200% attack damage to one enemy with a 100% chance to apply Heal Block for 1 turn.
  • Body Swap: At the start of a turn, there is a 50% chance to swap HP percentages with the enemy who has the highest current HP. Afterward, Ginyu restores 10% of his max HP. Each 1% of Ginyu’s Control Hit Rate increases this swap chance by 1% (up to a 50% bonus). The HP lost by the enemy during this swap cannot exceed 15% of Ginyu’s max HP. This ability will not trigger if Ginyu has fewer than three living allies.
  • Destruction Wave: Deals 100% attack damage to one enemy and applies a -10% DEF debuff for 1 turn.

Raditz

  • Assault Kick: Deals 100% attack damage to a target and advances Raditz's own Action Gauge by 10%.
  • Double Handed Energy Wave: Deals 150% attack damage to all enemies and grants all allies a 3% damage buff that stacks for the duration of the battle.
  • Scorn: After attacking, all allies receive an ATK boost equal to 3% of Raditz’s ATK (stacks up to 30% of his ATK). When Raditz takes an action, he gains +5% ATK for each fallen ally and inflicts a -5% ATK debuff on the target for each fallen enemy.
  • Energy Ball: Deals 40% attack damage to all enemies. Each ally has a 10% chance to restore 1 energy point. Raditz also gains a +10% DEF buff for 1 turn.

Meta Team Builds

Burst Damage (Best for PVE Farming)

  • Core: Super Saiyan Goku, Gogeta, Future Trunks.
  • Flex Slots: Android 18 (for faster energy regeneration) or Beerus (for crowd control and damage amplification).
  • Tactics: Use Gogeta to break the enemy's defense, followed by SS Goku’s ultimate to clear the front row. Future Trunks acts as the "clean-up" hitter to finish off survivors. This composition is designed to end fights within three turns, making it ideal for farming materials and clearing stages quickly.

Infinite Sustain (High-End PVE / World Boss)

  • Core: Majin Buu (Good), Piccolo, Dende.
  • Damage: Frieza (for poison stacking) or Vegeta (for his ramping passive).
  • Tactics: Majin Buu serves as the primary tank and damage reflector, while Piccolo provides consistent team-wide healing. Dende supports the squad with shields and debuff cleansing. By dragging the fight past turn 10, Frieza’s poison stacks deal massive percentage-based damage to high-HP bosses.

PVP Control Comp

  • Core: Beerus, full Ginyu Force, Babidi.
  • Tactics: Babidi starts the match by summoning an energy barrier for protection. Captain Ginyu uses his swap mechanics to displace the enemy’s primary damage dealer. Beerus then activates his domain to freeze the enemy's energy gain, while Ginyu Force members use self-destruct mechanics to break the opponent’s formation. This lineup focuses on heavy disruption and energy denial.

F2P Transition Team

  • Recommendation: Piccolo (Main Carry), Krillin (AOE Damage), Master Roshi (Damage Reduction/Buffs).
  • How to obtain: Complete Chapter 2 of the main story to unlock Piccolo. Krillin shards can be acquired easily through Friend Points. Master Roshi is available as a reward from the 7-day login event.
