Ventoy USB Tool: Boot Multiple ISOs Without Reformatting

5月23日 Published inSystem Utilities

Ventoy transforms a standard USB flash drive into a versatile multi-boot tool. Simply copy your ISO, WIM, IMG, VHD, or EFI files onto the drive—no file extraction or repeated formatting required. The utility automatically scans the storage and generates a boot menu on the fly. It even allows you to browse and launch disk images stored directly on your local hard drive.

Architecture Support

  • x86 Legacy BIOS
  • IA32 UEFI
  • x86_64 UEFI
  • ARM64 UEFI
  • MIPS64EL UEFI

Ventoy supports both MBR and GPT partition tables; version 1.0.15 and later provide compatibility for both styles.

OS Compatibility The tool is compatible with Windows, Linux, Unix, ChromeOS, VMware, Xen, and many others. It has been verified against more than 1,200 different ISO files, and over 90% of the distributions featured on DistroWatch work natively.

Sample Tested Systems

  • Windows: 7, 8, 10, 11, Windows Server editions, and WinPE
  • Linux: Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Deepin, Fedora, Kali, and Arch-based variants
  • Unix: FreeBSD, pfSense, and TrueNAS
  • Other: ChromeOS Flex, VMware ESXi, and Citrix XenServer

Key Features

Direct Boot Launch images without the need for unpacking. Ventoy reads ISO, WIM, and IMG files in their original state as they sit on the drive.

Security and Extensibility UEFI Secure Boot is supported natively in version 1.0.07 and higher. The tool also allows for password protection and includes a plugin framework for applying custom themes or modifying boot configurations.

Non-Destructive Upgrades You can update the Ventoy software on your drive without wiping your existing files. Furthermore, the USB drive remains fully functional for everyday file storage.
